When I began my weight loss journey, I watched many videos stating the benefits of apple cider vinegar for loosing weight. All these you tube videos claimed apple cider vinegar to help you in loosing weight magically. However, I’ve always been skeptical of apple cider vinegar being claimed as an elixir.
Thus, I started to dig in and came across an astonishing piece of information. Then,what is it about apple cider vinegar that makes it so popular among the weight watchers? Well, here comes the fact, which no one is going to tell you about. “Drinking a small amount of apple cider vinegar before meals helps you suppress your appetite and burns fat”, but there’s little scientific support to back up these claims. Having apple cider vinegar occasionally won’t cause you any harm,but if taken regularly may irritate your throat owning to its acidic nature. It also carries some risks; it interacts with some drugs such as diuretics,insulin,heart disease drugs and laxatives. Therefore, it should be used cautiously in diabetics and hypertensive patients. It may also lead to low potassium levels resulting in weak muscles. Since, its acidic , it can cause erosion of enamel. The “mother” in apple cider vinegar is nothing but probiotics constituting yeast and bacteria ,which boosts your digestive system,but there isn’t enough research to prove it too.
Is apple cider vinegar as treacherous as I’m making it sound? “Of course NOT!” Apple cider vinegar has its own set of benefits. You can have 1 tablespoon (15ml) of apple cider vinegar along with water before meals to curb your appetite and this can lead to eating a fewer calories, but this isn’t a magical drink. No “ELIXIR” will cause a magical weight loss unless you follow a healthy lifestyle. Before building your entire diet plan around apple cider vinegar, it’s worth taking a closer look.
I would like to conclude by saying, if someone claims that a particular product will make you loose weight without physical activity or lowering your calories, give it a second thought.
